As an academic, writing is always on your to-do list. You want to develop a better writing system, but between research, writing, and submitting your work, you don’t have time to master productivity. In fact, asking for productivity advice or reading how-to books is like going down a rabbit hole. Learning how to be productive shouldn’t feel like writing another dissertation.
You know what you’re doing isn’t working. You’re tired of:
Sitting down to write and not knowing where to start.
Writing to your editor to negotiate yet another extension.
Feeling clueless when it comes to planning projects or effectively managing your time.
Trying different productivity apps, hacks, and strategies with no success.
Over the past five years of working one-on-one with clients to get their writing lives in order, I’ve discovered what distinguishes successful writers from overworked, overwhelmed, deadline-driven writers: a system of structure and accountability. I’ve created a coaching program that gives you just that.
Simple Productivity is an online group coaching program that provides clear, focused support so you can write regularly. You’ll get that writing party started – no more wondering where to start or waiting for that oh-so-elusive inspiration.
Daily Planning Prompts
We all work a little harder when we share our goals with others.
Weekly Virtual Writing Sessions
Writing in community gives you accountability and motivation.
Live Monthly Trainings
Productivity lessons that get straight to the point, so you can spend your time writing.
(After one-on-one coaching) having the support of a group is even better. I don’t want it to stop!
I definitely feel better about my writing. I have worked harder on writing and research than I have in a long time.
Frequently Asked Questions
Who is Simple Productivity for?
Simple Productivity is designed for faculty writers who are juggling multiple writing projects along with teaching and service obligations. Graduate students working on their dissertations have also participated, with great success. Academics from all sorts of institutions and with different roles- R1s, teaching colleges, tenure-track, Associate Professor, etc – are welcome.
Do I get 1:1 coaching with Jane?
No. This is a group coaching program. I do provide monthly workshops inside of Simple Productivity where you can ask me questions directly. Also, I’m available inside the online coaching platform to answer questions, share tips, and provide encouragement. If you’d like 1:1 coaching, check out the Productivity Pipeline.
Is there a free trial?
There’s no free trial. In my experience as a coach, it takes at least 30 days for a new habit to stick. Therefore, providing a free week as a trial would be a disservice to you because you wouldn’t be around long enough to develop a routine. Since you can pay month-to-month, you have the opportunity to try it out for a month and if you hate it, you can stop! No hard feelings, pinky swear 🙂
Is there a curriculum?
There is no curriculum because this isn’t a course. There are, however, daily, weekly, and monthly activities and trainings designed to help you develop a routine.
Is it really only $37/month?
Yes, you read that correctly. My goal for Simple Productivity is to provide an affordable option (so inexpensive that it doesn’t require monetary support from your university) that costs just enough for you to have some skin in the game. What I learned in my one-on-one coaching program the Productivity Pipeline is that while people gravitate to certain habits and routines, there are some basic, foundational practices that nearly everyone benefits from. Those are the practices we cultivate together in Simple Productivity.
When can I register?
You can register until May 31st, 2019. The program starts on June 10th. We won’t open registration again until late August.
